Personal data

As Defined under the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) personal data is:

“Any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person ('data subject'); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person”.
 

Please note that this Privacy Statement does not apply to data stored by the contractors that carry out the work of EM 24-7 Maintenance Ltd. To find their Privacy Statement, you would need to contact them directly.

Why do we collect and store personal data?

We need to collect your data in order to provide you with the services on offer. We can collect the data in a number of ways including the following; by phone,  website, from your insurer, or a company that has made the booking on your behalf.

In all circumstances, we are committed to ensuring that the data we collect and use, is solely for the purpose or providing our services to the client, and does not constitute an invasion of your privacy.

In order for you to be contacted for marketing purposes, we would contact you for additional consent.

 

How is my information used?

We will use your information for the following reasons: 

  • The decision making process of you joining our business as an employee

  • The decision making process of you or your business joining our network of contractors

  • The validation of an insurance claim

  • The management of an insurance claim

  • The management of maintenance work to your property
     

We will process the information you provide in a manner compatible with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

EM 24-7 Maintenance Ltd is required to retain information in accordance with the law, such as information required for income tax and audit purposes.

The Length of time certain personal data should be kept may also be governed by specific business-sector requirements and agreed practices.

Personal data may be held in addition to these periods depending on individual business needs.

 

Is my personal data shared with anyone else?

Yes, we may pass your personal data on to external engineers that are contracted to EM 24-7 Maintenance Ltd in the course of dealing with you.

All third parties that we may share your data with are able to keep your details securely, to use them only to complete the service they provide you on our behalf.

If we wish to pass your personal data onto a third party, we will only do so once we have been given your consent, unless we are legally required to do so.

Can I find out what personal data that EM 24-7 Maintenance hold about me?

At your request, we can confirm what information we have acquired about you and how it has been used.

You can request the following information:

  • Identity and the contact details of the person or organisation that has determined how and why to process your data. In some cases, this will be a representative in the EU.

  • Contact details of the data protection officer.

  • How to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.

  • The source of personal data if it wasn’t collected directly from you.

  • The purpose of the use of data as well as the legal basis for processing the data.

  • The categories of personal data collected, stored and processed.

  • Recipient(s) that the data is/will be disclosed to.

  • How long the data will be stored.

  • Details of your rights to erase, correct, restrict or object to such processing.

  • Information about your right to withdraw consent at any time.

  • Whether the provision of personal data is a statutory or contractual requirement, or a requirement necessary to enter into a contract, as well as whether you are obliged to provide the personal data and the possible consequences of failing to provide such data.

What forms of ID will I need to provide in order to access this?

We accept a valid passport or driving license as the form of ID required to access your data.
